As I drove home today, I started reflecting.  You know, one of my favorite things to do when I was a child was put puzzles together.  There was something about emptying out the contents in the box.  Then you have all the pieces turned all kind of ways.  Then you pick up that first piece and lay it down clear away from everything else.  You carefully try to start piecing the puzzle together.  You grab that next piece and try to see if it will connect.  Then you realize that doesn’t work.  You grab another piece…

Life is a puzzle.  We are trying to put all the pieces together and make it all make sense.  Can I share with you, we never have to really try and piece anything together ourselves?  Our lives are like a woven quilt with patterns.  It is the stiches in the quilt itself that make every detail stand out as you run your hand across it.

I can recall in life trying to understand this or that.  Why did this have to happen the way that it did?  It isn’t until you have walked awhile that the puzzle of life starts to make sense. There are times I catch myself staring into space just thinking back.  Then I go to my Bible.  I open it.  I read Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

The life puzzle always comes together when it is supposed to. I spend my days now just stunned at all that is happening.  You know you might have moved to another state and met a person.  Then a couple of years later you are walking down the aisle of a grocery store and you see that silhouette.  You call their name.  They turn around.  You start talking to that individual.  You listen intently.  You realize that puzzle piece two years ago has aligned up with your puzzle piece two years later.  Then something new is born.

You didn’t understand at the time why that puzzle piece didn’t quite fit.  The puzzle piece now in the future aligned together perfectly.  It is the mystery.  It is that puzzle.  Then throughout your life, the puzzle starts to take shape.  As you place all the pieces together the picture of what was shown on the box is starting to become clear.  You pick up another puzzle piece…
