I wanted to take the time to say Happy Valentine’s Day today! I know, it is the day after. I wanted to ensure that you had the time to spend with your family and friends. I know that you received roses on yesterday. I thought I would at least bring you some WORD chocolates today.
Have you counted on one hand how many times you have heard the word LOVE? What did it feel like when you heard those words. Love is the most used word. It is the most misunderstood at the same exact time. The degree or level of love goes hand in hand with the magnitude of the individual in which you are. The love that I am concerned with though is that sacrificial LOVE.
God is love. There is no greater love that anyone can give than the love that comes from our Father. That is the sacrificial love that I am speaking of. When you say that you have love for someone; are you willing to sacrifice for them? How deep is your love for the people that are around you? Would you lay down your life for a fellow man?
We know what real love feels like. The reason we are able to experience this kind of love is because “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 As I read that more than once, my eyes kept going back to the word GAVE. When you love other individuals, you are a blessing to them. Blessing is giving. Now, that is true love.
